January 24, 1961 – September 6, 2020
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for James Leander Zipp, age 59 of Rice, MN. He died on September 6, 2020 at the CentraCare Long Prairie Hospital in Long Prairie, MN. Masks are required.
Jim was born on January 24¸ 1961 in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Dennis and Mary (Gardner) Zipp. He grew up in St. Cloud, and attended Sartell Schools and graduated in 1979. He then enlisted into the United States Marines, but received an Honorable Discharge shortly after boot camp due to back issues. He then worked shortly at Eich Motors and later worked over 20 years in the warehouse at Fingerhut. He also worked at Redneck Trailers, Renneberg Hardwoods, Mid Central Door Company and Stone Container.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary, his brother Thomas, and ex-wife Tara.
He is survived his three children, Jeremy (Kristi) Mortensen of Princeton, MN, Kyle and Trevor Zipp both of Sauk Rapids, MN, three grandchildren, his dad Dennis of St. Cloud, MN, one sister, Theresa (Randall) McNeal of Rice, MN and two brothers, Dale (Lori) Zipp of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Joseph of St. Joseph, MN, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

So sorry to hear of Jim’s death. Best wishes to his family as they mourn the loss of a loved one and celebrate a life well lived. Jim was a solid guy and valued member of the team.
My thoughts and condolences…Jim was a really sweet guy. He always had a smile for everyone. Very sad to lose him.
Jim was a wonderful person, we worked together for years at Fingerhut and were both involved with the Union… i will always remember his kindness!

I am very sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. Unfortunately I did not know Jim really well, except for saying “hi” at Company functions. I did work at MCD for a year, before transferring to ADW, so I did know many of the people he worked with. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Greg R
