Marcella M. Yunger

Marcella Marie Yunger, at age 99, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 2, 2021. Marcella was born on July 30, 1922 to Anton and Mary (Schiller) Ruprecht in Eden Valley, MN. She attended school in Eden Valley through the twelfth grade. After graduating from high school, she worked for Dr. Koop and Honeywell until she got married to Jerome J. Yunger on June 14, 1944, in St. Cloud, MN. She moved to New York City with her husband for about a year while he was training to become a baker in the Merchant Marines. When he shipped out to sea in 1944, she moved back to St. Cloud where she lived with Jerome’s parents. After Jerome returned from the Merchant Marines, they moved to North Minneapolis where they owned a grocery store for five years. After selling the grocery store, they purchased and operated rental property in South Minneapolis until they retired to Las Vegas in 1981.

Marcella is survived by her four children: Jerry Yunger and his wife Mary of Maple Grove and Lakewood Ranch, FL, Janet Ayala of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Yunger of Minneapolis, and Roxanne Yunger of Brooklyn Park, as well as ten grandchildren: David Yunger, Seattle, WA, Steven Ayala, Las Vegas, NV, Laurea Yunger, Minneapolis, Maria (Drew) Stangler, Albertville, Nathan Yunger, Minneapolis, Carolyn Yunger, Maple Grove, Joseph Yunger, Minneapolis, Jacob Yunger, Minneapolis, John Yunger, Lynchburg, VA and Richelle Yunger, Minneapolis; and six great-grandsons: Logan, Minneapolis, MN, Isaiah, James, Joshua Yunger, Seattle, WA and Emmitt and Trey Stangler, Albertville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome in 2009, her parents and four siblings (Adeline, Martin, Raymond and James), and son-in-law Robert Ayala.

Visitation for Marcella Marie Yunger will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. There will also be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. with the Mass immediately following at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN. The Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
