Peter M. Sullivan

July 1, 1951 – March 21, 2022

Peter Michael Sullivan, age 70 of St. Cloud, MN, died peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Peter was born on July 1, 1951, in Hibbing, MN. He was the third of ten children of Robert and Carol (Spadaccini) Sullivan. He spent most of his early years in St Cloud where he made many treasured life-long friends. After college, he moved to La Crosse, WI where he owned and operated the shoe department in Herberger’s Department Store. In 1975 he hired the girl that would later become his wife! He married Lynn Pinski on July 14, 1979, in La Crosse, WI. In 1989, they moved to St. Cloud to join Herberger’s Corporate office. He loved fashion, sales, and the co-workers and sales representatives he met along the way. He was gregarious, creative, and a smart businessman.

In retirement, he fell in love with reading, golfed often and fine-tuned his cooking skills. He spent as much time as possible at his father-in-law’s ‘Farm’- his chair in the creek with a book in hand, surrounded by nature and his Higher Power. His other passion was Lynn who is forever grateful for the magic they had together.

He is survived by his wife Lynn of St. Cloud; brother and sisters, Jane (Bill) Brekken of Brainerd, Mary (Jeff) Lindquist of Florida, Paul (Rachel) Sullivan of St. Cloud, Ann (Brad) Vogt of Florida. He is also survived by brother-in-law’s Charlie Pearson and Bob Corley, father-in-law, L.P. Pinski, sister-in law’s Jill (Tom) Schee and Jamie Pinski, precious nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends too many to count.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sharon Pearson, Wendy Corley, and Meg Sullivan; two brothers, Marty and Tommy Sullivan, mother-in-law Nancy Pinski and brother-in-law Eric Pinski.

There are no words to express the gratitude we have for the Mayo Clinic Hospital Transplant Team, Palliative Care Team and amazing nurses and PCA’s. Your care for Peter will never be forgotten…you are angels on this earth.

To borrow the words of Warren Zevon;

‘If I leave you, it doesn’t mean I love you any less- keep me in your heart for

 a while.’

You are in our hearts forever, Peter…

A celebration of life will be held on a later date.

From “The Whistler” by Jethro Tull

Deep red are the sunsets in mystical places,
Black are the nights on the summerday sands,
We’ll find the speck of truth in each riddle,
Hold the first grain of love in our hands.

Peter was amazing. So strong and willing. He always knew how to put smiles on everyone’s faces. Even when sick, he cared, he helped, and he was an asset to those around him. He attended our talent show and put on an adorable mask while he lip sang to “you’re so vain” leaving everlasting smiles on everyone’s faces. You will always be remembered. Thank you for helping to change the world with your story and your kindness. You mattered more than you probably even knew. Rest easy my friend.

So sorry for your loss Lynn. He was one in a Million!!God Bless Peter. God Bless Lynn.

Donna and I extend our sincere condolences to you Lynn. We have known Peter for many years and always enjoyed his positive attitude and warm smile. RIP Peter.
