Angeline M. Shay

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Angeline M. Shay, age 92, of Sartell who passed away December 24, 2010. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Francis Xavier gathering space in Sartell.

Angeline was born April 25, 1918 in St. Nicholas, Minnesota to Peter and Elizabeth (Kinzer) Lahr. She married David T. Shay on November 30, 1939 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas. He died on August 17, 1965. She later married Stan Erickson at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sartell. Angeline lived in the communities of St. Nicholas, Paynesville and Sartell. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Sartell.

Angeline enjoyed spending time at her farm on the Mississippi River in Sartell. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and visiting with family. Everyone enjoyed her cooking, which included many recipes she received from her mother such as butterhorns and applerolls.

Angeline is survived by her daughters Alma Cater (Bob Johnson) of Fargo, ND, Nora Shay of Rochester, Helen (Bill) Ellenbecker of Rice and son David T. (Linda) Shay of St. Martin, four grandchildren Wendy Cater (Dennis Bier), Ward (Tracy) Cater, Michelle Anderson and Chris (Kris) Proell, 11 great grandchildren, brother Frank Lahr of Paynesville and sister Aurelia Becker of Cold Spring.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; brothers, George, Alcuin, Ralph, Leander, Peter, Ovide, Herbert, Raynold and Alvin Lahr and sisters Elizabeth Braun, Isabelle Bares, Marie Wieber and Lorraine Spoden.
