Richard W. Wilson

Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell, MN for Richard Alan Wilson, age 62, of Sartell who died at his home on October 13, 2014. The Reverend Timothy Baltes will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery at Little Falls, MN at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2014. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. 

Mr. Wilson was born on March 18, 1952 in Brainerd, MN the son of Marvin and Elaine (Miklas) Wilson. He grew up and attended school and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1970. Richard enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on January 28, 1975. During his time in the Marine’s he was an Infantryman, a Sergeant, and later in his career worked in food service. He was honorably discharged on October 1, 1992.

He then went to work at the Post Office in Brainerd and later worked Waite Park Postal facility where mail was sorted. Most recently he worked in Housekeeping at the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center. He retired in 2012 and has made his home in Sartell since that time.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by; two sisters, Patricia A. Wilson of Denver, CO, and Gail Wilson Bahn (Richard) of Coon Rapids, MN, six nephews, one niece, and 12 great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
