I was my honor and privilege to have served under CPT Brunner while in the 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord. Upon his appointment to Company Commander of Delta Company ” Delta Dogs”, I fortunate enough to be CPT Brunner’s driver. I cannot express how much of an great influence he was on me as a young soldier. He made opportunities available to me which changed my life and helped mold me into the man I am today. I will be eternally greatful to him for the guidance he gave me. My deepest sympathy to CPT Brunner’s family. Rest in peace Lightfighter. Salute Sir
Thomas A. Brunner
April 19, 1961 – June 19, 2014
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Thomas A. Brunner, 53, of Sartell and Hoffman, who died June 19, 2014, at his home, with his family at his side.
Tom was born on April 19, 1961, in Minneapolis, to Kenneth and Alice (Laudenbach) Brunner. Tom graduated from St. Cloud State University and served 8 years in the US Army, and was honorably discharged as a Captain. He was currently employed by Southern Minnesota Machinery Sales as a territory manager. Tom liked fishing, cooking, and getting together with family and friends. He also loved his time at Red Rock Lake.
Tom is survived by: his triplet children, Gregory, Morgan, Ashley all of Sartell; former wife Tammy of Sartell; siblings Kathryn Schug of St. Cloud, Barbara Dorey of Jordan, MN, Mary (Tim) Swanson of Lacey, WA, Carol (Rick) Weidner of Auburn, WA, and William (Sara) of Carmel, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Michael Schug and Robert Dorey.
Memorials are preferred.

Had a nice visit with Tom when he came to his Uncle Louie’s wake on April 22. He met with his cousins and seemed to enjoy the visit. What a nice young man. Our thoughts and prayers to his family.
