Victor J. Chmieleski

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Catholic Upper Church in St. Cloud, MN for Victor James Chmieleski age 93 of Mission, TX formerly of St. Cloud, MN. Victor died on Thursday, December 25, 2014 in St. Cloud, MN. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at St. Mary’s Cathedral Upper Church on Monday.

Victor was born on December 27, 1920 at Automba, MN. He grew up in Superior, WI and St. Cloud, MN graduating from Cathedral High School in 1938. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army in the European Theatre of operations from 1942 – 1945.

Victor was united in marriage to Geraldine “Jerry” Stang on September 16, 1948 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Victor started his retail career with S.S. Kresge Company in St. Cloud. Later Vic and Jerry owned and operated a Ben Franklin Varity Store. Over the years, Victor and Jerry have lived in various states and retired to Mission, TX and spent summers in St. Cloud.

Victor was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by, his mother Julia and his step-father Walter Osacho, one brother Ray, and three sisters, Veronica, Lorraine, and Eleanor.

Victor is survived by, his wife Jerry of 66 years, his sister-in-law’s Mary Lou Reinert, Adell Stang and Ann Stang all of the St. Cloud area, and many loving nieces and nephews.
