Virginia C. Kruchten

May 21, 1923 – January 19, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Virginia C. Kruchten, 93, of Waite Park will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Virginia passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sterling Park Care Center in Waite Park. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Virginia was born on May 21, 1923 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to the late John and Christine (Eder) Philippi. She married Leo E. Kruchten on September 19, 1944 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She lived most of her life in Waite Park where she operated a sewing and alterations business from her home. Virginia was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the Waite Park Senior Citizens, St. Bertha’s Mission Group and the Whitney Senior Center.

She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, scrabble and bingo.

Virginia is survived by her children, Marilyn Kruchten of Waite Park, Jeanette (Gary) Frank of Prescott, AZ, Marlene (Bill) Caruson of Suwanee, GA, Delores (Jim) Fangman of Scottsdale, AZ, John of Bloomington, LuAnn (Bill) Hart of Waite Park, Mary Kruchten of Columbus, OH, Leon (Judy) of St. Cloud; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Theresa Philippi of Royalton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo in 2003; brother, Peter Philippi; and daughter-in-law Sharon Bahe.

Memorials are preferred.
