I will alway have wonderful memories of working with you and Donna on the farm, working the farm land, harvesting the crops, doing repairs in the machine shop. I will miss you and all of our farm talks. I will miss spending time with you at the farm, going for drives with the you and the Grandkids to see your land looking for deer trails.
Clifford Edwin Knebel
February 27, 1928 – October 16, 2013

A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Clifford Edwin Knebel, 85, of Paynesville will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. Cliff passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Private burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Cliff was born on February 27, 1928 in Paynesville to Edwin and Esther (Otto) Knebel. He grew up in the Paynesville area and served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He married Donna Donner on February 27, 1947 and five children were born to this union. Cliff and Donna farmed all of their married lives. After retiring, Cliff enjoyed planting food plots for the deer and pheasants. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his family. Cliff was a ten year volunteer for the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Donna of Paynesville; children, Joyce (Craig) Kelly of Atwater, Jay (Annie) Knebel of Florida, Julie (Leon) Spanier of Califorinia, Janet Klein of Paynesville, Jim (Margaret) Knebel of Pillager; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are preferred to the Rose Center in Paynesville.

Grandpa I will miss you and always remember all the great memories of us joking around and having a laugh together. You were always the best tour guide and I loved the summers there on the farm. You helped to shape me into the man I am today, for that I thank you grandpa. Your memories and stories will live on through all you’ve touched. Grandma I love you, your the strongest woman I’ve ever known, stay strong and I love you. Jess’s and my thoughts are with you and the rest of the family.
Rest in peace, grandpa. I will cherish the many memories I have of you during your and grandma’s many CA trips and our years of summer trips to MN. You had a fantastic laugh and taught he that bag balm can fix almost anything. 😉 love you.
