Wava B. Johnson

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Paynesville Cemetery for Wava B. Johnson, age 87, of Paynesville who passed on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Reverend Steve Bakke will officiate.
Wava was born on September 4, 1925 in Waite Park, to Peter and Beulah (Kissinger) Pauls. She graduated from Paynesville High School as Valedictorian. After High School, Wava attended air traffic controlling school in Chicago and she worked for several years in Grand Forks, ND. She married Orion Johnson on September 7, 1946 in Paynesville. They were blessed with three children whom they raised on the farm together. Wava loved the Lord and faithfully served in the Paynesville Evangelical Free Church for many years.
She was known for her hospitality and love for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Orion; children, Orlin (Karen) of Geneso, IL, Linda (Walt) Lowe, Mansfield, OH, Oluf (Debi), Paynesville; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Wava was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
