October 10, 1928 – October 27, 2012

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Abbey Church in Collegeville for Luanne M. Borgert, age 84, of Dassel and formerly of St. Joseph, who passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Lakeview Ranch in Dassel. Reverend Nathanael Hauser, OSB will officiate. Private Burial will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:00 a.m. at the Abbey Church on Wednesday.
Luanne was born on October 10, 1928 in Melrose, Minnesota to Isadore and Frances (Ohmann) Schultenover. She graduated from Cathedral High School before attending St. Gabriel’s in Little Falls where she received her Nursing Degree. Luanne married Kenneth J. Borgert on October 1, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. Throughout her life Luanne worked as a nurse at the St. Cloud Hospital, helped with the bookkeeping at Borgert Concrete Products, and raised seven children. After her children were grown, she re-established her nursing license and worked at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home.
Luanne was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed baking, summers at the lake, fishing, arts and crafts, horseback riding and tennis. After retirement she loved wintering in Florida. Luanne especially treasured the time spent with her family.
Luanne is survived by her children, Kevin (Suzanne)Borgert, Deb (Herman) Eiffert, Jeanine (Bill Cash) Borgert, Nadine (Craig) Olson, Susan (Mark Welle) Borgert, Lisa Borgert; granddaughters, Melanie (Nate) Ashfeld, Angela Borgert, Kali Borgert, Carrie Olson; one great-grandson, Trez Ashfeld; brothers and sisters, Lloyd (Marge) Schultenover, Yvonne (Jim) Sexton, David Schultenover, Mardelle England, Roman (Kathy) Schultenover, Marilyn (David) Haak, Steve (Kathy) Schultenover; sister-in-law, Joyce Schultenover and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carrie in 1975; husband, Kenneth in 1999; brother and sister, Ben and Doris; brother-in-law, Bob England.
A Special Thank You to the Staff at Lakeview Ranch for the exceptional love and care given to our Mom during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lakeview Ranch Dementia Care Foundation, 22851 MN Highway #15, Dassel, MN 55325.

It is with great regret to hear of her passing. We are so greatful that the legacy of her children are here to share her life lessons and love of living.
For my “Other Mother”, who’s influence in my life continues through this very day-May you go in peace. My sympathy to Luanne’s family.
