Lloyd D. Abfalter

August 5, 1948 – August 27, 2012

Memorial services will be at 12 noon on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater, MN for Lloyd Donald Abfalter age 64 of Clearwater, who died on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Pastor Scott Gjevre will officiate. Inurnment will be at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Clearwater, MN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church.

Lloyd was born on August 5, 1948 in St. Cloud, the son of Mary Abfalter Roberts and step son of John Roberts. He grew up in the St. Cloud area and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He was united in marriage on October 2, 1971 to Barbara Young at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Three children were born to this union. They have lived in the Clearwater and Clear Lake area since that time. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

He was a member of Rejoice Lutheran Church and Clearwater American Legion Post 323 both of Clearwater.

He is survived by, his wife Barbara of Clearwater, Tonya (Dennis) Klug of Maple Lake, MN, Ben (Will Bertrand) of Eau Claire, WI, Holly (Josh Clark) Abfalter of Waite Park, MN, seven grandchildren, Hannah, Amber, Jacob, Hailey, Grace, Mason, and Tyson, 12 brothers and sisters, Debbie, Pamela, Susan, Bradley, Judith, Jeffery, David, Richard, Victoria, Daniel, Terry and Gary, also many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dear Barb & family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss today. It breaks my heart to know you have to travel this path. Know my love and prayers are with you. Lyoyd, What a wonderful life you had & have now. You made me laugh so much all the time no matter what the situation was about. You always found the way to make me laugh. You were the BEST Santa Claus ever even though we knew it was you. We so missed you when you were in Vietnam & prayed for your safe return. What a wonderful day that was to see you again. Yes throwing me over your shoulders just because you could & you are my big cousin. You will be missed so much here on earth. I love you Lloyd & always will.
