James A. Brannan, Sr.
September 18, 1930 – August 21, 2012

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of James A. Brannan, Sr., 81, of Waite Park will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Jim passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family. Reverend Mark Innocenti will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Jim was born on September 18, 1930 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to the late William T. and Olivia (Weismann) Brannan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1949-1953. He married Joyce E. Brunner on January 27, 1951 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud and lived most of his life in St. Cloud and Waite Park. Jim worked at Vision-Ease for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the Marine Corps League Valhalla Detachment #171, St. Cloud Moose Lodge #1400 and the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428.
Jim loved spending time with his wife of 61 years, his family, friends and treasured time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and canning, fishing, summer campouts and Brannan Bouja.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of Waite Park; children, Jackie Brannan of Minnetonka, Jerry of Crosslake, Joe (Linda) of Eagan, Jeff (Kimberly) of Luxemburg, Janet (Randy) Lommel of Luxemburg, Jimbo “James Jr.” (Debbie Jo) of St. Augusta; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Pat) of Waite Park; and sister, Bridget (Ken) Wendinger of St. Cloud. montre pas cher
Jim was preceded in death by his son, John in 2003; brothers, William Jr., Patrick, Stanley and Eugene.
