Martin E. "Eddie" Pick
November 7, 1926 – April 12, 2012

Funeral services will be at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at St. Benedict Center Chapel in St. Cloud, MN for Martin Edward Pick age 85 of St. Cloud who died on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the St. Cloud VA Hospital. The Reverend Meinrad Dindorf, OSB will be the celebrant. Interment will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery at Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at St. Benedict Center Chapel.
Eddie was born on November 7, 1926 in Sauk Rapids, MN the son of Joseph and Anna (Schueller) Pick. Eddie served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army as a truck driver in the European Theater of Operation. After his honorable discharge on October 13, 1946, he returned to Sauk Rapids. He was united in marriage to Orlean “Olie” Baum at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids on August 15, 1952. He then worked at Franklin Manufacturing for 38 years retiring in 1988. After his retirement he worked part time as the elevator operator at the Medical Arts Building in St. Cloud. He has been a resident of Benet South since 1999.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District #165, Eastside V.F.W. Post #4847 all of St. Cloud. He was also a volunteer at St. Cloud Hospital for 15 years, was a member of the Fun Singers and also was proud of having 38 years of sobriety with AA.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Orlean “Olie” of St. Cloud, his children, Michelle “Sherrie” (David) Johnstone of Coon Rapids, MN, Edward (Sue) of Sartell, MN, Michael (Nancy) of Rochester, MN, David (Teri) of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Susan (Mike) Olson of St. Cloud, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, two sisters, Rosie Hilsgen of Minneapolis, MN, Delores Starr of Sauk Rapids, MN, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joseph, one grandson, Chandler, two sisters, Evelyn Katke and Lorraine Field, three brothers, Alvin, William and Bernard.
