Kenneth I. Stainbrook

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for Kenneth I. Stainbrook, age 83, of St. Cloud, who passed away at his home with family at his side on March 31, 2012. Reverend Alan Wielinski will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ken was born on November 2, 1928 in Dimock, South Dakota to Delbert and Ruth (Meyers) Stainbrook. He served honorably in the United States Army. Ken married Marlyce Wegener on June 15, 1953. He worked for the Northern States Power Company for over 32 years retiring in 1988. Ken was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Kiwanis.

He enjoyed spending time “putzing” at the lake cabin, vacations with extended family, golfing, hunting and fishing. Ken especially treasured the time spent with his family, always taking the time to help with family projects and activities.

Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlyce, children, Scott (Renotta) of St. Cloud, Cindy (Greg) Bluhm of Clearwater, Shelly (Patrick) Flynn of St. Joseph, Bruce (Shiela) of Sartell; grandchildren, Eric (Libby), Lisa (Kyle), Adam, Alicia, Daniel, Rachel, David, Maria, Ashley, Austin; and great-granddaughter, Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers.
