LeRoy A. Locnikar

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for LeRoy A. Locnikar, age 75, of St. Joseph, who passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his son’s home in St. Joseph. Reverend Alan Wielinski will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Today) at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

LeRoy was born on July 26, 1936 in Krain Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Conrad and Ottilia (Kubicek) Locnikar. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1957 until 1963. LeRoy married Caroline Linn on July 7, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport and they later divorced. He worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation retiring with over 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

LeRoy will be remembered for his sense of humor, always having a smile on his face, and was willing to lend a hand to anyone. He was very proud of being a grandpa. LeRoy was a member of A.A. and recently celebrated 25 years of Sobriety.

He is survived by his children, Kevin (Karen) of Albany, Keith (Cyndi) of St. Joseph, and Karla (Greg) Wensmann of Avon; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Amber, Laura, Sarah, Emily Locnikar, and Kari, Anthony, Courtney Wensmann ; brother and sisters, Conrad (Genny) of Albany, Rita Rakotz of St. Paul, Eileen Van Heel of St. Paul, Delores Lange of Cottage Grove, Mary Scott of St. Joseph, and Viola (Tony) Barthel of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ervin, Gregor, and Florian.
