A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud celebrating the life of Arlene Friederichs, age 84 of St. Cloud and formerly of Palm Coast, Florida. There will be closing prayers at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Arlene passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Private interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.

Arlene was born on August 30, 1926 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Alphonse and Vera (Kleber) Zins. She married James H. Friederichs on June 8, 1948 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Arlene lived most of her life in St. Cloud. After retirement Arlene and Jim wintered in Florida and eventually decided Palm Coast would be their permanent home. She enjoyed golfing, painting, bowling, playing the organ, reading and baking. Arlene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Jackie (Jim) Voigt of St. Cloud, Judy (Dick) Dinndorf of Hugo, Jill (Roger) Bonn of Sartell, Jamie (Christine) Friederichs of St. Cloud and Janet (Kevin) Arkelin of Andover; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Donald “Edwin” Zins of St. Cloud; and sister, Jeanne Weisbrich of St. Cloud.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorraine Gaetz; and most recently her husband Jim on December 20, 2010.

Memorials are preferred.
