Wes married Ann Kersting on September 14, 1957 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. He worked as an engineer at Fridgidaire for over 20 years. Wes belonged to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Eagles Aerie #622, and also belonged to the church choir for over 30 years.

Wes had a great love of the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing, and camping with his children. He was a constant supporter of his family becoming a great mentor both to them and others. His greatest joy was the time spent with family and friends.

Wes is survived by his loving wife, Ann; children, Michael (Yvonne) of Avon, Susan (Tom) Leedahl Flynn of Alexandria, Mary (David) Terry of Albertville, Timothy (Geri) of Albany and Jackie (Mark Reum) Leedahl of Avon; 14 grandchildren; sisters Leone (Paul) Plantenberg of Robbinsville, NC, Colleen (Tom) Borgert of St. Cloud, and Sharon Ziebol of Stoughton, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, John and Ann Kersting; and brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Ziebol, Carol Kersting, and Jack Glieden.

A Special Thank You to the Staff at St. Cloud Hospital Hospice and Dialysis Center at Centra Care Plaza for the care provided to Wes during this difficult time.

Ann and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are so sorry to hear about Wes. You can take comfort in knowing he is at peace and hold on and enjoy all the wonderful memories you have made throughout the years.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Wes. He was an inspiration in my life that I will never forget. He treated me like I was one of his own and that is something I will always appreciate. You never can really understand the impact someone makes in your life until they are no longer around. Wes was that kind of person and father. I wish the family well during this time and I hope they celebrate the “LIFE” of Wes as well as the impact he made on everyone around him. He was truly one of the best ever.

Frank Cotty

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ann and the whole Leedahl family at this difficult time. Wes touched many lives. Let these memories carry you through this time of sorrow.
