Joe Kroll

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus for Joe Kroll, age 98, of Bowlus, who passed away January 9, 2011 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Parish Cemetery in North Prairie. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Joe was born June 30, 1912 in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County, MN to John and Victoria (Radziej) Kroll. He married Angeline Scepurek on October 3, 1939 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus. They farmed in the North Prairie area most of their married life. They retired from farming and moved to Bowlus in 1977. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and St. Joseph’s Society.

Joe enjoyed gardening, playing with his grandchildren and enjoyed talking about the “old days”. Joe’s motto was “take it easy and do all you can”.

Joe is survived by his son Patrick (Mary) of St. Stephen; daughter Kathryn (Jerome) Czech of Flensburg; two grandchildren April Anderson of Frazee and Paul Anderson of Bowlus.

Joe was the last surviving member of his and Angeline’s brothers and sisters. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife (2007), brother John and sisters Agnes Marsolek, Frances Kurtz and Mary Kroll.
