Rueben J. Pogatshnik

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 27, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Rueben J. Pogatshnik, 84, of Sartell, who died December 20, 2010. The Reverend Lauren Germann will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday and after 9:30 AM on Monday at the St. Francis Xavier Gathering Space in Sartell. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, Sartell.
Rueben was born on April 5, 1926, in St. Stephen, to Joseph and Bertha (Pierskalla) Pogatshnik. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Rueben married Rita Pohlman in St. Stephen on August 31, 1948. Rueben was employed by St. Regis Paper Company/ Champion International, from 1946 until his retirement in 1988. Rueben enjoyed woodworking and ornamental ironwork; he made many gifts for family and friends. He loved being outside, helping his neighbors, and took great pride in his yard. He was a resident of Sartell from 1950-1961, and LeSauk Township after 1961. Rueben was a member of St. Francis Xavier parish, St. Stephen American Legion Post #221, and the United Paperworkers International Union, Local 274.
Rueben in survived by: sons, Bob (Cheryl) of Sartell, Rick (Jeanie) of Nevis, Ray (Connie) of Sartell; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Betty Pogatshnik of St. Stephen; brothers, Firmin (Mary) of St. Stephen, Bernard (Maxine) of St. Cloud, and Ed of St. Wendel.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita in 1996 and daughter Kim Partch in 1999.
