Guestbook
My mom has even tried to take care of us in death. Last fall when we had a surprise 70th party for her and made some lovely picture boards to celebrate her life, she kept the boards after copying and returning all the pictures to us, putting the copied pictures on the boards so there were picture boards ready and waiting for us to use for her funeral. She knew her time was short and was trying to lessen the burden on us. That’s my mom, always taking care of everyone else.
My mother Aggie said it best. She was the best sister anyone could ever have.
It was around our birthday last October 2009. Naomi treated me to lunch at “Friends” and we talked for hours. I think the establishment was a little irritated but we just ignored them. She stopped and picked me up and took us there. There was a bag between us and I reached for it to carry it for her. She said “No, no, that’s a surprise!”. Just before we were ready to go she said “Oh, I almost forgot the surprise.” She opened the bag and took out 2 cupcakes. Then she reached into her purse and took out 2 candles and put one on each cupcake. “We can’t have birthday cake without candles”, she said. I lit the candles, we blew them out together and we ate them up. She dropped me off at home. That was a good day.
