Marie M. Bauer
December 13, 1916 – January 24, 2010

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Marie M. Bauer, age 93, of Paynesville who passed away January 24, 2010 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Entombment will take place in the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum in Paynesville.
Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. St. Louis Catholic Aid and Christian Women will pray at 6 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Marie was born December 13, 1916 in Melrose, MN to Joseph and Mary (Ellering) Schoenberg. She married Alphonse Bauer on October 25, 1937 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spring Hill. They farmed in the Spring Hill area and later purchased a farm in rural Elrosa. In 1979 they retired from farming and moved to Paynesville. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Catholic Aid and Christian Women.
During her retirement, Marie enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, gardening, baking, and going to garage sales. She was also a fan and advocate of the Twins and a member of the Red Hats.
Marie is survived by her children Gene (Judy) Bauer of Wilson, WI, Betty (Ken) Winter of Richmond, Bob (Donna) Bauer of Paynesville, Duane (Roseann) Bauer of Waite Park, Karen (Lyle) Paavola of Clear Lake and Bonnie (Jim) Lampert of Little Falls, son-in-law Jim Kollodge of Spring Lake Park, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, brothers Edward Schoenberg of Watkins and John Schoenberg of Indiana and sisters Laura Walz of Richfield and Marlene Jansen of Milaca.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband (1995), son Michael, daughter Joanne (2009), three grandchildren Michael, Mary Elizabeth and Aaron, brothers Gilbert and Joseph Schoenberg and sisters Katie Terhaar, Ann Loehr and Leona Spanier.
