A memorial service will be held on November 21, 2009, in San Francisco Bay, CA, for Charles H. Cross, 66, of St. Joseph, who died in his wife’s arms, with his daughter at his side, on November 9, 2009.
Chuck was born on November 20, 1942, in Goshen, New York, to Carl L. and Grace V. (Cardy) Cross. He graduated from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA. Chuck served in the Marines from 1961- 1965, serving three tours in Vietnam. He moved to the Midwest and founded Cross Transportation in the early 1970’s. He enjoyed open wheel racing.
Chuck is survived by: his wife Yvonne Larson of St. Joseph; children Frank of Seattle, WA, Betsy Steadham of San Mateo, CA, Keith and Kyle of Salt Lake City, UT, stepdaughter Naomi Conery of Niagara, WI, stepson Staff Sergeant Andrew Larson, of Fleisen, Germany, currently serving in Iraq; four grandchildren: Bryce, Amber, Andilee, Danielle; brother Richard (Suzy) of Sonora, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

I am so sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. I truly enjoyed listening to his entertaining stories and intense opinions while enjoying a cocktail at O’Hara’s. He will be missed. God bless.
