Lewis L. Wipper

August 12, 1924 – August 1, 2009

Funeral services will be on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in Clearwater for Lewis L. Wipper, age 84 of Clearwater who passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Peter Holm will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Clearwater American Legion Post #323. Private interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater. The Clearwater American Legion Post #323 will pray at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in Clearwater.

Lewis was born on August 12, 1924 in rural Clear Lake, Minnesota to Jess and Rose (Hopke) Wipper. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. Lewis married Berniece C. Seefeldt on May 24, 1958 in St. Cloud. He was employed by George Cook Construction Company of Minneapolis for many years until he retired in 1986. Lewis was a longtime member of the Clearwater American Legion Post # 323.

Lewis enjoyed his hobby farm, deer hunting, picnics, spending time outdoors, vacations, watching westerns and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Berniece; daughters, Pam Steffes of Monticello and Diane (Steve) Schreder of Rice; five grandchildren, Brandon Hanebuth, Nicole Hanebuth, Cassandra Steffes, Chris Schreder and Natasha Schreder; two great grandchildren, Bryce Clark and Aliyah Bieniek; sister, Charlotte Langanki of Enfield; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Ed Steffes; brothers, Philip, Herman, Harold, Leonard, Maurice and Laurence; nephew, Tom Wipper.
