Adeline "Addie" Agnes Hortsch
June 19, 1931 – July 18, 2009

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Adeline “Addie” Agnes Hortsch, age 78, of St. Cloud will be at 11 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The Rev. Alan Wielinski, Rev. Robert Harren and Rev. Gregory Leiser will officiate. Inurnment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Family and friends may call between 4-8 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10 am on Wednesday at the church. St. Peter’s Christian Women will pray at 4:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud followed by the parish prayers at 5 pm.
Addie was born on June 19, 1931 in Melrose, MN to Bernard and Rose (Hinnenkamp) Barhorst. She married Lawrence “Larry” Hortsch on April 21, 1956 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose, MN. She was employed by AT&T/Bell Telephone Co and and later by the St. Cloud Hospital from which she retired. She was also a co-owner of Hortsch’s General Merchandise in Greenwald for 15 years. She moved to St. Cloud in 1971. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Christian Women and Choir.
Addie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured traveling with her husband and spending quality time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Larry; daughter Cheryl Fox (Leonard) of Savage and son Kenneth Hortsch (Ann) of Eagan; grandchildren: Benjamin, Callie, Julia and Maxwell Fox, Rachel, Lauren and Ellen Hortsch, step-granddaughter Sara Flint and sister Leone Weinzierl of St. Bonifacius and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are preferred.
