Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN, for Darlene Ann Iten age 68 of St. Joseph, MN who died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Pastor Dave Nelson of Holy Cross Lutheran Church will officiate. Internment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MN, and on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MN.
Darlene was born on July 19, 1940 at Litchfield, MN, the daughter of Harry and Hazel (Dahl) Adams. She grew up in central Minnesota and graduated from Anoka High School and moved to St. Cloud to attend trade school. She was married to Charles J. Iten on November 28, 1969 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. After Mr. Iten died on January 17, 1974, Darlene continued to make her home in the area, living in St. Joseph, MN with her life partner Sonny Reischl.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN.
She is survived by: Sonny Reischl of St. Joseph, MN, one sister, Bonnie Whitman of San Diego, CA, three step brothers and sisters, Charlene (Kenny) Schowiester, Larry Adams, and Mark Adams all of Milwaukee, WI, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by one brother LeRoy, and one sister Harriet Poling, and her aunt and uncle Walter and Theresa Adams.
