Irene M. Eichers

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring for Irene M. Eichers, age 89, of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Cold Spring, who passed away December 6, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Entombment will take place in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.

Irene was born February 22, 1919 in Fulda, MN to Frederick and Pauline (Mueller) Tiemens. She married George Marx on January 4, 1937 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. He died September 13, 1970. She married Virgil B. Eichers on June 2, 1973 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. They lived in the Cold Spring area until 1994 when they moved to Sartell. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Christian Women.

Irene is survived by her husband Virgil, children Marcella (Cel) Thielen of St. Cloud, Kathleen (Chuck) Supplee of Duluth, Albin (Elizabeth) Marx of Pasco, WA, George (Beverly) Marx of Nisswa, Dennis (Kim) Marx of Albertville and Pauline Marx of Dallas, TX, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband George, two brothers and five sisters and one grandson Tom Thielen.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
