I was truly saddened, to hear about Dolores’ death. She was such a good, kind and caring neighbor. We stayed in touch once a year, exchanging Christmas cards. I will miss those cards.She was always so up beat.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Dolores M. Thomson, 78 of St. Cloud and formerly of Mankato who passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at home with her family at her side. Rev. Alan Wielinski and Rev. Lloyd Haupt will con-celebrate. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery in Braham.
Visitation will be held between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dolores was born on July 29, 1930 in the Braham Community Hospital, Minnesota to Victor A. “Jake” and Rose A. (Aigner) Jacobson. She was baptized and received her first communion at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City. She was confirmed at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge. She graduated from Braham High School in 1948 and married John C. Thomson on May 25, 1950 in Cambridge. Dolores lived in St. Cloud for over 30 years and was a Child Care provider who loved taking care of children. She was a member of St. Paul’s Parish and Christian Women. She also volunteered for numerous organizations.
Dolores was a diehard Twins fan who despised the Yankees.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 58 years, John of St. Cloud; children, Gary (Jana) of Coon Rapids, Holly Meyer (Rick) of Forest Lake; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Sunde, Nicole and Alex Thomson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
