Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Lawrence J. Rennie, age 87 of St. Joseph who passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. The Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.
Lawrence was born on March 6, 1921 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Joseph and Bertha (Stock) Rennie. He married Marie Betty Uderman on April 20, 1944 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple lived in St. Joseph for over 50 years and were members of the Gadabouts Square Dancing Club for 22 years. Lawrence was employed by the St. Joseph Milling Company for 39 years retiring in December of 1984. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Holy Name Society and the St. Joe Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his son, Ronald J. (MaryAnn) of St. Joseph; daughter, Darlene (Gordon) Lehman of Falun, Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Lisa (Steve) Collins of DeGraff and Rhonda (Joseph) Pohl of Cold Spring; five great grandchildren; brother, Norbert (Irene) of St. Cloud; sisters, Nel Pfannenstein of St. Joseph, Dorothy (Harold) Roske of Collegeville and Mary Zabinski of Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2005, brothers, Arthur and Jerome and sister, Bernadette Roske.
