Harold E. Manz

November 24, 1915 – September 30, 2007

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville for Harold E. Manz, 91, of Paynesville who died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Koronis Manor Care Center in Paynesville. Pastor Ric Koehn will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.

Harold was born on November 24, 1915 in Paynesville, Minnesota to Edwin and Elsie (Hein) Manz and graduated from Paynesville High School. He married Joyce N. Glenz on September 17, 1941 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Paynesville. They farmed on the north side of the Paynesville area. Harold also worked in insurance sales and management for over twenty years. Harold was a member of the Paynesville Saddle Club, an advocate and past board member of the Paynesville Farmers Union, served on many insurance boards, and a member of the Paynesville Sportsman’s Club.

Harold was a super dad, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed working the land and received many awards for his work as a conservationist. He also enjoyed going to auctions and garage sales and spending time hunting and fishing. Harold had an intimate relationship with God.

Harold is survived by his children, Woody and Linda Manz, Burton R. and Deborah Manz and Bev and Curt Kopitzke all of Paynesville; eight grandchildren, Tim (Nancy) Manz, Kim (Mike) Schackman, Laura (Greg) Laine, Burt (Deb) Manz, Bonnie (Ron) Masters, Connie (Gary) Erickson, Josh Pearson, Natascha Keller; 12 great grandchildren, Andria and Eric Manz, Sarah (Billy) Pattison, Amber Schackman, Grant (Amanda) Schackman, Jon and Chris Laine, Adam and Donnie Manz, Stevie (Tori) Manz, Megan Haase, Mitchell Masters; one great-great grandson, Wyatt Schackman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce in 1996; two grandchildren, Michelle Manz and Jimmy Keller; sister, Lorraine Fiscus and an infant sister.
