Florenz R. "Floyd" Walz

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Florenz R. “Floyd” Walz, age 88 of St. Joseph who died Saturday, October 7 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community Center in St. Cloud.  Rev. Joseph Feders, OSB, Rev. Richard Walz, and Rev. Daniel Walz will concelebrate.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph.  Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Floyd was born on May 8, 1918 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Anton and Emilia (Aschenbrener) Walz.  He lived all of his life in St. Joseph where he farmed.  Floyd also drove bus for Trobec’s Bus Service and worked at Franklin Manufacturing for many years.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish.

Floyd is survived by his sisters and brother, Mary (Norm) Imholte of Clear Lake, Sr. Mary Dolores, OSC of Sauk Rapids, Cletus (Eileen) Walz of St. Joseph, Magdalen (Firmin) Krupa of St. Joseph; nine godchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Loretta Fischer, John, Edmund, Francis, Christopher, Raymond, Wendelin, and Bernard Walz, and Anna Heinen.
