Myra A. Gerard

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lower Church in St. Cloud for Myra A. Gerard, age 92, of St. Joseph and formerly of St. Cloud, who died Sunday, July 30. Reverend Steven Binsfeld will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers and the St. Mary’s Cathedral Christian Women Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Myra was born on May 14, 1914 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to William and Magdalena (Eder) Schmidt. She married Edmund Gerard on December 30, 1941 at St. Mary’s Cathedral and lived in St. Cloud all of her life. Myra owned and operated her own beauty shop out of her home for over 40 years. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Margaret’s/St. Joseph’s Society, St. Cecelia Mission Group, the Crosier Apostolates, and a life member of St. Mary’s Cathedral and Christian Women, the Daughters of Isabella, Blue Army, St. Cloud V.F.W. Granite Post #428 Auxiliary, Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Myra is survived by her husband, Edmund of St. Joseph; children, William Louis Gerard of Annandale, Laurie (Andy) Ziebol of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard, William, Herbert, and Raymond Schmidt; and sisters, Hilda Walker, Alvina Deyo, and Madeline Schmidt, and MaRee Lansing.
