Allen J. Meyer

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday April 13, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Allen J. Meyer, age 74, of Paynesville. Allen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 10, 2013 at the Paynesville Area Hospital. Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Entombment will take place in the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Allen was born August 11, 1938 in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County, MN to Arthur and Leonora (Kuebelbeck) Meyer. He married RoseAnn Ratke on May 6, 1963 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. They farmed in the Lake Henry Township until 2000, then they moved to Paynesville. Allen continued to help on the farm along with working part time at Cenex and Paynesville Excavating.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Joseph Men’s Society, St. Louis Knights of Columbus Council 3820, Catholic Order of Foresters, Stearns County Plowmen’s Association, Hindenberg Snowmobile Club, Lake Henry Lions, and served on the Lake Henry Township Board. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to the KASM radio station, fishing, playing cards, visiting with his friends at Hilltop, and playing games on his iPad.
Allen is survived by his wife RoseAnn of Paynesville, children Donna (Bob) Welle of Spring Hill, Mary (David) Winter of Grove Lake, Jim (Lisa) Meyer of Albany, Jean (Ron) Kern of Belgrade and David (JoAnn) Meyer of Lake Henry and his 19 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.

Rose Ann and family, So sorry, wish we could be there for you. I’ve been thinking about all the things Allen and I did as kids, we really spent a lot of time together and had a lot of good times.
Mary and family, So sorry for the loss of your father/grandfather. So hard to lose a parent. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
