Alvina G. "Frankie" Goering

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2405 1st Street North, St. Cloud, for Alvina G. “Frankie” Goering, age 82 of St. Cloud who died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community Center. Reverend Peter VanderWeyst will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Alvina was born on April 26, 1925 in Padua, Minnesota to Louis and Margaret (Krebsbach) Wiener. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School and the St. Cloud School of Nursing and worked at the St. Cloud Hospital for thirty years. Alvina married Jacob J. Goering, Jr. on November 12, 1946 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and lived in St. Cloud all of her married life. She was a member of St. Anthony’s parish and Christian Women, St. Cloud School of Nursing Alumni Association, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses.

Alvina is survived by her children; James (Linda) of Crystal, Kathy (Bob) Trainer of Mason City, Iowa, Mary M. Lutgen of St. Cloud, Michael of Waite Park, John “Bubba” of Sauk Rapids, Richard of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jackie “Tattoo Lady” of Waite Park; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Victor (Dorothy) Wiener of Sauk Centre; and sister, Gloria (Gene) Harless of Marysville, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob in August 1979; brothers, Melvin and Howard Wiener.
