Anita Ann Orbeck

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Anita Ann Orbeck, age 91, of Paynesville. Anita passed away December 8, 2011 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring with family at her side. Burial will take place in the St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Paynesville.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Daughters of Isabella and St. Louis Christian Women will pray a rosary at 9:45 a.m.

Anita was born September 24, 1920 in Lake George Township, Minnesota to Peter and Johanna (Gysberg) Stern. She married John Orbeck on August 29, 1939 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin. She worked as a nurse’s assistant at Koronis Manor for many years. She also worked as a waitress at Frank’s Cafe. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella and the Paynesville Ladies VFW. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Anita is survived by her sons Eugene of Hayward, WI, Jerome (Gayla) of Paynesville, DuWayne (Jean) of Kimball, Gerald (Helen) of Rockville, Ralph (Dawn) of Paynesville, Ronald (Lori) of Wasilla, AK, Virgil (Tina) of Cold Spring, Allen of Centerville, IA, Darin (Michelle) of Cold Spring, daughters Diane Coiley of Fairbanks, AK and Marlene (Earl) Lahr of St. Cloud, 35 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and sisters Gertrude Clark, Eleanor Gavin, Dorothy Eberle and Lorraine Oehlert.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband John, daughter Joyce, 3 brothers Richard, Alphonse and Donald Stern, 2 sisters Jean Riegert and Cecilia Bauer and 2 infant brothers.

Anita’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Assumption Home in Cold Spring and to Kathy Schultz and the staff at Mother Lucille’s for the wonderful care their mother received.
