Anne J. Gominsky

September 18, 1916 – February 15, 2010

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Anne J. Gominsky, 93 of Waite Park will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Anne passed away at her home on Monday, February 15, 2010 with her loving family at her side. Rev. Bernard Gruenes will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Christian Women at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Anne was born on September 18, 1916 in Bagley, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Kraemer) Theis. They moved to Eden Valley in 1917.  She married Erwin F. Gominsky on October 21, 1941 in Eden Valley and homesteaded in Waite Park in 1944. Anne was a homemaker, raising five children. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and Christian Women, and St. Bertha’s Mission Group.

Anne enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, playing cards, reading, sewing and visiting with family and friends. Anne will be remembered for her hard work, her strength, witful ways, living a simple life and giving of her generous heart.

She is survived by her children, James (Mary) of Monticello, Duane (Juanita) of DeGraff, Sharon (Richard) Janssen of Richmond, Wanda (Tom) Wirth of St. Cloud, Luann (Dave) Smelter of St. Cloud; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin on September 3, 1980; and brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Edward and Joseph Theis.

Anne’s family would like to extend a special thank you to St Cloud Hospital Hospice,  Angel Helpers and Dellie, Kelsey, Kristie, Lisa, Liz, MaryLou, and Tara for the compassionate care Anne received while living at home.

Ann was a very gentle person with a caring heart! She touched so many lives and had a great sence of humor. Being around her a couple times a week was such a blessing to me, I will miss her so much! love you Ann

We were so blessed to have known Anne and especially blessed by the gift of her precious wonderful daughter Wanda that she gave to my brother and our family.
May all of you be comforted in this time knowing our almighty God has already welcomed Anne into the reward she so much deserves.

We can thank God for all the wonderful memories she gave everyone for over 93 years.
Anne will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We feel privileged to be part of that group!
