Arlene L. Raab

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Arlene L. Raab, 79, of St. Joseph will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Arlene passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Reverend Alfred Stangl and Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will con-celebrate.

Family and friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by the St. Stephen American Legion Post #221 Auxiliary at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Arlene was born on November 22, 1932 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Joseph and Bertha (Pfannenstein) Notsch. She married Joseph H. Raab on May 15, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She lived all of her married life in St. Wendel Township raising four children. Arlene was a member of St. Joseph’s parish and the St. Stephen American Legion Post #221 Auxiliary.

Arlene loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, preparing family meals, her flower gardens, making crafts, shopping, birds and bird watching “especially hummingbirds” and trips to the casino.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of St. Joseph; children, Ken (Sharon) of St. Joseph, Tom of St. Stephen, Margie Raab of St. Joseph, Donnie of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Sadie Nelson, Laura Raab, TJ Raab, Stacy Nordmann; great grandchildren, Bailey, Nathan, Sam, Morgan; brothers and sisters, Bill (Margie), Jerry (Dorothy), Mary (Jim) Voller all of St. Joseph, Richie of Blackduck; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Notsch of Foley and Lillian Notsch of Blackduck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sister, Elmer, Ray, Robert and Betty Counter.

A special thank you is given to the doctors and nursing staff of the St. Cloud Hospital ICU, Fourth and Fifth Floors.
