Aurelia M. Kozel

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Aurelia M. Kozel, age 96 of St. Cloud and formerly of St. Stephen who passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Stephen Parish Cemetery in St. Stephen.

Family and friends may call after 10:30 a.m. at the church on Monday. Arrangements were by the Daniel funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Aurelia was born on May 27, 1911 in St. Nicholas, Minnesota to Henry and Catherine (Theis) Faber. She married Joseph A. Kozel on June 9, 1947 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Duluth. The couple owned and operated Sampson’s Shoe Store in downtown St. Cloud. Aurelia lived in St. Stephen and later in St. Cloud most of her married life. She has been a resident of the Assumption Home since November of 2002. Aurelia was a member of St. Anthony’s parish, St. Stephen Christian Women and St. Stephen American Legion #221 Auxiliary.

Aurelia is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on July 12, 1993; her brothers, Matt, Alphonse, Nickolas and Leo; sisters, Catherine “Kate” Wirtzfeld, Mary Dockendorf, Ann Dockendorf, Margaret Pederson, Helen Wolf, Agnes Koop, Theresa Schmitt and Leona Johannes.
