September 7, 1927 – November 5, 2010

Memorial services celebrating the life of Barney J. Masters Jr., 83, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Life Assembly of God, 2409 Clearwater Road, St. Cloud. Barney died on Friday, November 5, 2010. Pastor Emil Williams will officiate. Inurnment with full military honors will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Barney was born on September 7, 1927 in Hematite, Virginia to Barney J. and Lena (Brown) Masters. He lived in Hematite until he joined the Navy in 1945 and served during WWII. He was called back to active duty in 1951 and also served in the Korean Conflict. Barney worked for Barbarosa & Sons and Moorehead Construction Co. as a Master Plumber and Pipefitter. He was a member of the St. Cloud Local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, lifetime member of the St. Cloud East Side VFW Post #4847 and the American Legion.
Barney loved working in his garden, driving his pickup and going out to lunch.
He is survived by his children, Diane (Joseph) Muehlbauer and David Masters both of St. Cloud, Gayle (PJ) Schlotterbeck of Priest River, Idaho; former spouse, Marie Masters; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lydia Brown and Lucille Hoke Webb of Hematite, Virginia.
He will be loved and missed by family, many special friends and neighbors.
