Bernice V. "Bonnie" Przybilla

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Bernice V. “Bonnie” Przybilla, age 84 of St. Cloud, who passed away on Sept. 6, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Alfred Stangl and Deacon Dave Lindmeier will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Bonnie was born on Nov. 5, 1927 to George and Lucetta Valenty in St. Paul. She graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1945. Bonnie obtained her nursing degree in 1948 through the WWII Cadet Nursing Program at St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing in Little Falls. It was during her time as a nursing student she met and fell in love with Urban “Bill” Przybilla. They were married on Sept. 15, 1949 in Little Falls. During Bonnie’s many years as an RN at St. Cloud Hospital she was able to touch the lives of many with care and compassion. She retired from her nursing career on July 27, 1990.

As a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend her love of the outdoors was shared with all. She introduced her children to cross country skiing back in the 1970s. Trips to Duluth and Lake Superior were numerous and memorable. Foremost of those memories were her days as a young mother in Superior, WI. Favorite activities included attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s athletic events, along with going for walks with her dogs.

She valued her association with the Franciscan Sisters which began during her nursing education in 1945 and continued through her life. Bonnie became a Franciscan Associate in October of 2005.

Survived by daughter, Kathie (Dave) Pflueger of Waite Park; sons, Thomas (Maureen) Przybilla of Ramsey and Jim Przybilla of Brandon; grandchildren, Chad (Caroline) Johnson, Chrissy (Nate) Beack, Erin (Paul) Koshiol, Adam (Nicole) Przybilla, Zach, Andy, Ben and Shawn Przybilla, Crissy (Jeff) Lambertson, Renee Weyer, Sharon Pflueger, Bob (Alli) Pflueger, Michelle and Matt (Sarah) Pflueger; 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Urban “Bill” Przybilla in 1980; and brother, George Valenty in 2011.
