Bertha A. "Dolly" Christensen

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Stephen’s Church in St. Stephen for Bertha A. “Dolly” Christensen, age 66, of St. Stephen, who passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Reverend Robert Harren will officiate. Burial will take place in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Askov, Minnesota.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Church in St. Stephen.

Dolly was born on November 27, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois to David and Gertrude (Timmons) Morris. She married Virgil J. Christensen on November 7, 1964 in Sandstone, Minnesota. Dolly spent the majority of her life raising their four children and keeping a home with her husband.

She enjoyed listening and dancing to music, cooking and baking, and spending time outdoors. Dolly cherished the Holiday Season and family traditions. Her family was her life. She loved being a Wife, Mom, Grandma, and Best Friend.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Virgil; children, Terry of Andover, Victoria Ingram of St. Stephen, Cindy Christensen of St. Stephen, Wendy (Patrick) Hicks of St. Stephen; grandchildren, Kayla, Steffen, Brianna, and Meghan.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and son-in-law, Rick.
