Dear Hughes Family,

I learned this morning from Fr. Tom Carkhuff that my friend, Brian, has died. I think Brian liked me and your parents were grateful for the attention I showed Brian during my time at St. Peter’s. Brian was a gentle soul and your Dad told Brian that I shold listen to him because he was older than I am. Brian said, “Yes, yes, that’s right. Brian would show me the ‘important’ papers he had in his briefcase. May the angels lead Brian into Paradise. It was good to read that Brian had such good care in his life. I hope all is well with your extended family. Thank you for every kindness you have shown me over the years. Brian sees clearly and walks without effort in the heavenly Kingdom. Peace,

Neil Emon, OSC

We are also blessed with a special little boy in our family with special needs. I was especially touched in how Brian’s life was described in his obituary. May we all learn things from special people like Brian and truly enjoy life.
