Bruce C. Willie

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN for Bruce Calvin Willie age 75 of St. Cloud, MN.  He passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, MN.  The Reverend Derek Wiechmann will be the celebrant. Inurnment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN at a later date.  Visitation will be on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to funeral mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.

Bruce was born on May 16, 1951 in Cloquet, MN, the son of Ruben and Lucille (Hammond) Willie. He grew up in Pillager, MN where he attended and graduated from high school in 1969. He then went on to attend St. Cloud Technical College where he studied and received his Carpentry Diploma.

He was united in marriage on August 4, 1972 to Barbara Ann Reiter at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN.  They made their home in St. Coud, and Bruce over the years worked at both DeZurik and Grede Foundry.  In 2002 they moved to Holdingford and he retired in 2009.  They moved back to St. Cloud in 2023.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, working in his yard and especially spending time with his family and grandkids.  He was also known to enjoy baking for his family.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Eric and Carol Erickson, Dave and Carol Reiter, and Jim Skaja.

Bruce is survived by; his wife of 54 years, Barbara Willie; his two sons, Christopher (Julie) Willie, and Chad (Ann) Willie; four grandchildren, Myles (Sarah) Willie, Avery Willie, Abby Willie, and Ally Willie; one great granddaughter not yet born; his sisters and brother, Barb J. Willie, Brian (Kathy) Willie and Brenda (Tom) Murch; his in-laws, Linda (Rick) Handke, Bonnie Skaja, Doug and Ceal Reiter, and Jackie DeRosier; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
