Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Carlyn R. Hoefer, age 71 of Sartell who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Lauren Germann and her uncle Reverend Bill Broker will concelebrate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in ST. CLOUD and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church in Sartell. The St. Monica’s Christian Women will pray at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Waite Park American Legion Auxiliary Unit #428 at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in ST. CLOUD.
Carlyn was born on May 2, 1937 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Lawrence and Rose Marie (Broker) Burgmeier. She married Thomas C. Hoefer on June 29, 1957 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Carlyn was employed as a waitress and later as gambling manager at the Waite Park American Legion Post #428 for 22 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, St. Monica’s Christian Women and the Waite Park American Legion Auxiliary Unit #428.
Carlyn enjoyed reading, swimming, puzzles, playing cards and wintering in Arizona. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Sartell; children, Debra (Jim) Studniski of Clearwater, Wayne (Tammy) of Michigan, Robert (Karri) of Sauk Rapids, Beth (Gary) Meyer of Sartell, John of Sartell, Marie Hoefer of Sartell and Kristi Hoefer of St. Cloud; 10 grandchildren; one great grandson; brothers and sisters, Ann Marie Korpi of Mesa, Arizona, Patricia Paugh of Tempe, Arizona, Thomas of Overland, Kansas, Carl of Palm Springs, California, Margaret Haugen of St. Cloud and Michael of Sartell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter; and brother, Lawrence.
