Carol Fischer

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon for Carol C. Fischer, age 83, of Avon, who died on Thursday, August 17. Inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Reverend Blane Wasnie, OSB, will officiate.

          Friends may call after 9:00 AM on Saturday at the church in Avon. Daniel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

          Carol was born on November 3, 1922 in St. Cloud to Herman and Clara (Foehrenbacher) Opitz. She married Joseph  “Harold” Fischer on May 6, 1950, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She worked as a sign painter, most notably at Fandel’s, for many years. She was a resident of Avon all of her married life. Carol was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Christian Women, and VFW Post 428 Auxilliary. She loved fishing and gardening.

          Carol is survived by her children: Sharon (Jerry) Ahles of Avon, Mike (Kathy) of Avon, Pete (Barb) of Albany, Liz (Rich) Mohs of Avon, and Laurie (Bill) Weisman of Chanhassen; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brothers: Adrian and Fritz Opitz.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, brothers John, Frank, Ben, and sister Rosemary Opitz.

          Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
