Catherine "Cathy" (Leither) Burggraff

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 ,2024 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Catherine “Cathy” (Leither) Burggraff, age 97, of St. Cloud. Cathy passed away January 31, 2024, surrounded by family, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Jeremy Ploof will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Cathy was born on July 20, 1926, in Rockville Township, Stearns County to Wendelin and Helen (Stang) Hansen. She married Alvin M Leither on September 6, 1945. She later married Charles A Burggraff on September 10, 1993.

Cathy worked at J.C. Penny’s in St Cloud for 20 years retiring in 1984. She was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening and especially her flower gardens, traveling, playing cards, embroidery and various crafts, and time spent with family.

Cathy is survived by her daughter Helen (John) Meade of Wilsonville, OR, sons; LeRoy Leither of Waite Park, MN, Leon (Mary) Leither of Blacklick, OH, John Leither of Brighton, CO; and daughter-in-law Shelly Leither of Sioux Falls, SD. Cathy is also survived by her Burggraff family: Bob (Rose) Burggraff of Clearwater, MN, Wayne (Marilyn) Burggraff of Pilager, MN, David (Susan) Burggraff of Sartell, MN, Janet Kiley of Kalamazoo, MI, Linda (Jim) Justin of St Stephen, MN, Debra Burggraff of Little Falls, MN, and Rebecca (Duane) Klisch of Royalton, MN; and a total of 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin M Leither in 1988, her husband Charles Burggraff in 2009, son Alvin L Leither, grandchildren Michael Leither and Sara Meade, three brothers and two sisters.
