Clotilda "Tillie" Guggenberger
August 2, 1926 – January 15, 2011

Clotilda “Tillie” Guggenberger, 84 of Waite Park, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Christian Women will pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Tillie was born on August 2, 1926 in Cold Spring, MN to Herman and Theresia (Holthaus) Dingmann. She married Raymond Guggenberger on May 29, 1947 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie, MN. Ray and Tillie lived in Waite Park all of their married life.
She was employed for many years in the decorating center at JC Penney in St. Cloud, eventually starting her own business, Guggenberger Drapery. Many families in the Central Minnesota area are still enjoying her window treatments. Tillie was very active in her church and community, serving as the coordinator of the Waite Park Meals on Wheels program for thirty years, receiving the Waite Park Lifetime Volunteer Award in 2007. She was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and was instrumental in forming the St. Joseph Parish Prayer Line. Tillie was a lifelong member of the Christian Mothers and Madonna mission group. She was also a member of Waite Park Legion Auxiliary, St. Cloud Eagles Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Council 5548 Auxiliary, and Waite Park Senior Citizens. She will be fondly remembered for her excellent cooking, crocheted hand towels, embroidered dish towels, sense of humor, and her willingness to help whenever asked.
Tillie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ray “Butch” of Bellevue, NE, Joyce (Stephen) Schmidt of Quaker Hill, CT and Diane (Ralph) Moeller of St. Cloud; granddaughters and their spouses: Amy Moeller (Jared) Shogren, Sarah Schmidt, Angela Moeller (David) Nolan and Rebekah Schmidt; brothers and sister Linus (Janette) Dingmann of Cold Spring, Clarence (JoAnne) Dingmann of Cold Spring, and Laura (Pete) Hengel of Waite Park. Sisters-in-law, Juletta Dingmann, Audrey Dingmann, Sister Marlene Guggenberger, OSB and brothers-in-law Dave (Lu), Linus, and George Guggenberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years Ray Guggenberger on April 5, 2010, brothers Marcus (Eldora), Ralph, Wally, and infant sister Evelyn. Brothers-In-law, Medard (Loretta), Claude (Clara), and Herb Guggenberger and sisters-in-law Clara (Eddie) Steil, and Leonilla “Mutz” (Leo) Feneis.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Pat and Chuck Brannan and the residents of Granite Ridge Villa for their care and companionship over the last five years.
