Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Cyrilla Theisen, age 88 of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Vincent Lieser and Reverend Alfred Stangl will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at the Assumption Cemetery Columbarium.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Cyrilla was born on June 15, 1923 in Richmond, Minnesota to Joseph and Theresia (Behnen) Feldhege. She married Francis L. Theisen on April 22, 1947 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, Minnesota. Cyrilla was employed by School District #742 as a cook at Westwood School for many years.

Cyrilla was a member of the Polka Lovers Club of America, Heartland Swingers Polka Group, Good Sam’s Club, Catholic United Financial, Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post Auxiliary Unit #428, Daughters of Isabella Stella Maris Circle #558 and St. Michael’s Parish. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army.

Cyrilla will be remembered for her love of baking and cooking for others, as well as always making people feel welcome and special, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was proud of her family and she often said she was blessed with a good life. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, spending time with her sisters, shopping, sewing, quilting and canning. Cyrilla always looked forward to a good fish fry.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Lynda) of St. Cloud, Diane (Ken) Marquardt of St. Cloud, John (Marilyn) of St. Cloud, Mary (Wendell) Johnson of St. Paul, Mike (Judy) of St. Cloud, Julie (Greg) Nelson of St. Cloud, Gayle (Terry) Moore of Fairplay, Colorado, Tim (Sara) of Rochester, Richard of St. Cloud, Jeff (Audrey) of Golden, Colorado; 26 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rita Klein of Cold Spring, Alma Stang of Richmond, Bertha Lieser of Weslaco, Texas and Leona Wuertz of Lake Henry.

In addition to her parents and stepmother, Margaret; Cyrilla was preceded in death by her husband Francis on April 15, 2010; brothers and sisters, Evelyn Braegelman, Delores Guggenberger, Richard and Alphonse.

Memorials are preferred.
