Daniel L. Finken

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph for Daniel L. Finken, age 81, of St. Cloud and Apache Junction, Arizona who passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the Gaudalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

Dan was born on August 19, 1945 to Daniel and Anna (Classen) Finken in Elrosa, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm in Elrosa and eventually went on to  honorably serve his country in the United States Army. Dan was a man of many hats and always enjoyed staying busy. He owned and operated Cloud Body Shop and Waite Park Auto both in Waite Park. He  also owned and managed a number of rental properties in the area. Dan loved simply being around cars. He loved working on cars (most recently old Chevy pickup trucks and El Caminos), selling cars, going to car shows and dirt track races. He was most happy when he had a wrench in his hand or occasionally winning a game of 500. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his honesty and love of wearing cowboy boots.

He is survived by his children, Michael of St. Cloud and Shelly (Larry) Rahn of Avon; grandchildren and great grandchildren; significant other, Deb Kosbab of Apache Junction, AZ; brother-in-law, Wayne Schrantz of Brooten; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jim (Rose Ann) and Mary Lou Schrantz.
