David J. Johnson

April 27, 1953 – December 26, 2010

David Joseph Johnson, age 57, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 4:20 p.m. at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. His death was a heartfelt tragedy, as a result of a massive hemorrhage of the brain.
David is survived by his loving wife, Diana Lin Johnson, brothers William Charles Johnson, Terrence Mark Johnson, three children, daughters Sarah Ann Johnson, Lora Beth Johnson, son Adam David Johnson, grandson, Andrew Joseph Johnson and parents William Charles Johnson and Patricia Katherine Johnson.
David was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and a great friend to all who knew him. His unconditional love and respect for others was unmatched and never went unnoticed.
David was retired from 3M Company after serving 31 years of service and was recognized by his colleagues and within his industry as one of its most outstanding leaders in manufacturing and outsourcing management, contract supplier management and cost reduction. Over the years, he had several assignments in the United States and has traveled all over the world many times over. When he retired, he decided to devote his time to relaxing with friends and family.
Originally from St. Paul, MN, where he grew up in Mendota Heights the family eventually moved to near St. Cloud, MN, he graduated from Cathedral High School in 1971. Then attended St. Cloud State University earning his Bachelor of Science and MBA degree in Business Management and Finance in 1975. David was also a member and past president of Theta Tau Chapter Delta Sigma Pi at St. Cloud State University.
David lived an amazing life; he grew up fishing and boating on the Wilkens Lake and water skiing on the St. Croix River. Later in life, David became Scuba certified with his wife Diana and they traveled to places such as Tahiti, Maui, St. Thomas, St. John’s, Costa Rica to see all of life’s wonders in the sea.
All that knew David, knew a man of character, honesty, sweetness with a profound sense of humor and loving nature. Our loss is heaven’s gain. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his beautiful green eyes and sweet smile.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

My good friend Dave! I will certain miss your company. I will always have some fond memories of our friendship and how happy you were to have met Diana and how happy you made her. Will certainly miss your great smiles and laughter. Rest well.

Dave was a good man- smart, funny and committed.

Dave was a loyal friend full of humor and strong opinions. At work, Dave was focused and delivered what he promised…..and more.

Dave was skilled employee, very likeable and a good friend.

All though I have only seen Dave on one occasion (I am in California) I liked him very much. Dave was very easy going and very easy to talk to. I enjoyed our talks on the phone. God bless you Dave.
